At The Races, the company behind Sky Sports Racing, is looking for a Researcher to join its live production team. This full-time role is based at Sky’s campus in Osterley, West London.

The successful candidate will have a strong interest and knowledge of horse racing and will contribute to the channel’s live editorial production. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced media environment, working closely with a collaborative team to deliver high-quality content to viewers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the editorial production of live broadcasts.
  • Research and compile statistics, trends, and past performances of horse races.
  • Create graphics using templated applications for live broadcasts.
  • Research and prepare analysis clips relevant to editorial needs.
  • Write daily racing news notes for use across the channel and Sky Sports.
  • Prepare interview notes for presenters and pundits.
  • Manage graphics systems and sections of running orders (training provided).
  • Communicate plans effectively with the production team and other stakeholders.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Strong knowledge and passion for horse racing.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines in a live broadcast environment.
  • Strong writing and editorial skills.
  • Tech-savvy, with the ability to quickly learn new applications.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Self-motivated and adaptable with a proactive approach.
  • Ability to generate ideas and contribute creatively.
  • Enthusiastic and flexible with working hours.
