Our client is a large successful international bank, devoting a long history of success across the global market, that have offices based in the City.
THE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work as a key team member of the Retail Advisory Team in the following areas:
- Specialist projects (bank-wide) e.g. Consumer Duty, Conduct Risk Management, confidentiality management
- - Retail Banking advisory including Complaints oversight including liaising with the Financial Ombudsman Service, creating MI for reporting to the Bank’s committees
- Compliance Training
- - Regulatory Reporting
- Certification Regime.
- Compliance aspects of Cyber Security and IT Security
- Perform updates to policies and compliance procedures, and participate in business unit and departmental projects to ensure the business areas receive a high
- to all employees are as level of service and the Bank remains compliant and meets the requirements of all appropriate regulations and legislation
- Take responsibility for the design and implementation of Regulatory Compliance policies and procedures as required in order to meet the requirements of new/updated regulations/legislation and embed these within the Bank.
- Act as the Bank’s subject matter expert in relation to Regulatory Compliance matters and high level of knowledge in in the FCA handbooks.
- FCA Handbook knowledge including: COBS, MCOBs, BCOBS, CONC, DISP, SYSC and ability to advise in these areas.
- Respond to requests for advice from business units, support departments and/or branch offices and positively provide the appropriate level of support.
- Represent the Compliance Department at meetings, including project and product launches, providing support, guidance, check and challenge and present possible solutions.
- Support the VP in ensuring the Regulatory Compliance Forum runs smoothly; including issuing the agenda, capturing actions and assisting to track such actions as appropriate.
- Support the VP in Compliance-related projects in respect of Regulatory Compliance.
- Participate in the planning, preparation and delivery of Regulatory Compliance related training.
- Ensure reporting in respect of outputs and regulatory change is completed accurately and on a timely basis. This includes regular reporting to the Deputy Head
- You must observe proper standards of market conduct. of Department, Regulatory Compliance Forum, Compliance Committee and Board Meetings as well as ad-hoc management information as required.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Consumer Duty experience
- FCA Handbook knowledge including: COBS, MCOBs, BCOBS, CONC, DISP, SYSC and ability to advise in Retail banking
- Previous training and experience gained at a major international law firm, corporate or financial services institution assessing regulatory change and impact, with exposure to the varied compliance tasks and an understanding of the potential compliance implications in a range of situations.
- Strong commercial acumen and analytical and negotiation skills with the ability to transform problems into a workable solution within a business context
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Logical, structured and detail focused with the ability to manage a broad portfolio of responsibilities in a timely and proactive fashion.
