Retail Development Manager

 

Description:

Provide a comprehensive support to the Head of Operations in formulating and directing the implementation of a Retail service that enables the Company to meet its business objectives and image in the marketplace. Formulate close working relationships with other departments within the business, Masters, Retail Heads of Department, Port Managers, Area Managers and Marine Managers to ensure they are fully aware of the Retail Department`s direction in achieving revenue maximisation and working to agreed budgets.

 


PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Management of department processes should be in line with company expectations and ensuring consultation is completed with relevant process reviewers when adding, amending, deleting and reviewing owned processes.
  • Assist the Head of Operations in formulating and directing the implementation of a Retail service that enables the Company to meet its business objectives and image in the marketplace.
  • Formulate close working relationships with other departments within the business, Masters, Retail Heads of Department, Port Managers, Area Managers and Marine Managers to ensure they are fully aware of the Retail Departments direction in achieving revenue maximisation and working to agreed budgets.
  • Undertake Retail operations business meetings with Retail Head of Departments to discuss current performance, adherence to policy and procedures, resolve issues arising and ensure that agreed financial targets are being achieved. The number of meetings will be agreed with Head of Sales and Head of Operations.
  • Assist in formulating and directing the implementation of a Retail service that enables the Company to meet its business objectives and image in the marketplace.
  • Ensure training and development within the department meets the standards set out by thecompany and legislation alike.
  • Assist the Head of Operations and Head of Sales in formulating and directing the implementation of a Retail service that enables the Company to meet its business objectives and image in the marketplace. Line Management of designated Retail Heads of Department, including recruitment, promotion, and all aspects of performance management.
  • Conduct regular business meetings with Retail Heads of Department to discuss current performance, adherence to policy and procedures, resolve issues arising and ensure that agreed financial targets are being achieved.
  • Carry out investigations into stock variances, cash discrepancies and other areas as appropriate: VOM Section 07 Retail Operations 07.04 Retail Operations Stock Control.
  • Produce management information reports, identify solutions and recommend remedial action as required.
  • Work closely with the Safety, Environment and Security department to ensure compliance with relevant food safety legislation through the adherence to the company Food Safety Management System.
  • Review current Retail policy and procedures with on board management and recommend areas of improvement and change that will ensure best practice and overall benefit to the Company.
  • Participate in the formulation of Retail budgets & KPI's and undertake reviews to ensure targets are met.
  • Ensure training and development within the department meets the standards set out by thecompany and current legislation.
  • Comply with the policies, procedures and systems laid out by the company.
  • Undertake other duties as directed by the Head of Operations.

 


QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE

  • HND in Catering, Retail or Business Management.
  • A proven track record within a multi-unit retail environment.
  • Excellent written, verbal and people management skills.
  • Experience in developing and implementing new initiatives.
  • Experience in branded retail/catering management environment.
  • REHIS Intermediate Food Hygiene.
  • Educated to degree level in Business management.
  • REHIS Advanced Food Hygiene.
  • A good understanding of food service operation.
  • Ability to work on own initiative and to communicate effectively across the company and with external bodies at all levels.
