Description:

O’Reilly Auto Parts, one of the most recognized names in automotive retail and distribution, is seeking a dedicated and customer-focused Assistant Store Manager for its Jacksonville, TX location. This role supports the Store Manager in all aspects of store operations, including sales, customer service, store appearance, and staff supervision. The Assistant Store Manager is also responsible for managing the store during the Store Manager’s absence or when working opposite shifts, ensuring smooth operations and a high level of customer satisfaction.

This position is ideal for individuals with strong leadership abilities, excellent communication skills, and proven retail or automotive parts experience. Bilingual candidates, especially Spanish speakers, are highly encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead store team members to deliver outstanding service to both retail and professional customers.

  • Supervise customer service levels on the retail floor, ensuring team members adhere to service programs such as Hi5, Rock the Call, Rock the Lot, and Never Say No.

  • Ensure proper staffing of the retail sales counter during peak hours (lunch, evenings, weekends).

  • Assist the Store Manager with team member goal-setting, training, coaching, and mentoring.

  • Participate in hiring by completing recruiting tasks, conducting interviews, evaluating candidates, and collaborating with management for final selections.

  • Ensure compliance with customer service policies, efficient handling of special orders, outside purchases, returns, exchanges, and core charges.

  • Oversee merchandise invoicing accuracy and ensure timely order processing, transfers, and shipments.

  • Ensure all merchandising, Image Maker, and Zipline communication tasks are delegated and completed.

  • Perform store opening/closing procedures, including securing deposits, arming/disarming alarms, and securing delivery vehicles.

  • Assist with facility upkeep, including store building, parking lot, signage, lighting, computer systems, test equipment, and vehicles.

  • Uphold company standards and ensure compliance with all policies, scheduling, and timekeeping procedures.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Required:

    • Sales Specialist Training

    • Assistant Manager Certification

    • RSS Certification

  • Desired:

    • Certified Parts Professional Certification

    • ASE Certification

    • Fluency in Spanish or additional languages
