Reward Program Manager

Description:

Monzo Bank, one of the UK’s fastest-growing and most innovative fintech institutions, is seeking a Reward Program Manager to join its dynamic Reward Team on a 12-month fixed-term contract. This role is ideal for an experienced program delivery professional with a deep understanding of compensation structures, governance, and communication strategy within a scaling environment.

Monzo’s mission is to make money work for everyone by reimagining traditional banking through simplicity, transparency, and technology. As part of this mission, the Reward Program Manager will play a key role in shaping Monzo’s reward framework, ensuring that its compensation systems scale effectively with the company’s rapid growth while maintaining fairness, clarity, and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Program Delivery and Execution:

  • Lead the end-to-end execution of Monzo’s annual reward programs, including Annual Review Cycle, Global Benchmarking, and Job Architecture Implementation.

  • Oversee the full reward lifecycle — from design and governance to delivery and post-implementation review.

  • Ensure seamless coordination of timelines, dependencies, and stakeholder responsibilities to drive timely delivery.

2. Stakeholder and Communication Management:

  • Act as the main point of contact for internal and external reward stakeholders.

  • Simplify and communicate complex compensation structures, policies, and principles to leaders and teams across the business.

  • Collaborate closely with People, Finance, and Leadership teams to ensure alignment on reward strategy and execution.

  • Design and implement structured communication strategies to ensure transparency and engagement across all levels.

3. Governance, Compliance, and Risk Control:

  • Develop and maintain governance frameworks for all compensation processes, ensuring they align with internal standards and external regulations.

  • Drive consistency and equity across job grading, benchmarking, and compensation decisions.

  • Partner with external vendors, consultants, and data providers to implement benchmarking data into Monzo’s internal structures.

4. Change Management and Continuous Improvement:

  • Lead change management initiatives to ensure smooth adoption of new reward tools and frameworks.

  • Continuously gather feedback and evaluate program effectiveness to inform future improvements.

  • Promote best practices in project delivery, milestone tracking, and risk mitigation.

Candidate Profile:

  • Strong background in Reward Management, Compensation Design, or HR Program Delivery, ideally within a scaling or technology-led environment.

  • Proven track record in executing complex, cross-functional reward projects with strong governance oversight.

  • Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and organizational skills.

  • Ability to translate technical compensation data into clear, actionable insights for non-specialist audiences.

  • Experience working with external partners, benchmarking data providers, or compensation consultants.

  • Strategic mindset with a hands-on approach to delivery and problem-solving.

Preferred Attributes:

  • Experience with Job Architecture, Benchmarking Methodologies, and Annual Review Cycles.

  • Strong analytical and presentation skills with proficiency in HR data interpretation.

  • Demonstrated ability to drive accountability and efficiency across diverse teams.
