Description:
The main purpose of the role is to coordinate the Multi-Agency Risk Assessment Conference (MARAC) process. The post holder will receive and process all MARAC referrals both from Police and other agencies. They will be responsible for overseeing the new Case Management System, and monitoring activity as research and actions are added by participating agencies. The post holder will, with others in the team, coordinate and minute any MARAC meetings which take place.
You will be a confident, methodical and well-organised individual who is able to approach a demanding personal caseload with enthusiasm and have the ability to prioritise your workload effectively to meet urgent deadlines. An ability to work on your own initiative and unsupervised is essential. Previous multi-agency experience is desirable.
A high level of diplomacy will be required as you will be dealing with a range of representatives from a large variety of statutory and non-statutory bodies. You will act as an ambassador of Kent Police and will need to display a mature and credible attitude.
Confidence and personal resilience are essential, with the ability to communicate with people effectively. Excellent written communication skills are required, as well experience of minute taking. You must have the ability to deal tactfully and diplomatically with people, using sound judgement and discretion, when discussing the progress of individual cases.
Knowledge and experience of police systems such as Athena and PNC, as well as previous Public Protection Unit or PVP background is desirable.
The role will offer flexibility in terms of place of work, including the potential to work from home for those who would like to. In the event that home working is agreed for the successful candidate, there will be a requirement to regularly attend a contractual workplace regularly, as agreed with the line manager. Currently the designated contractual workplace for this role is located at Sutton Road, but please be aware that this location is potentially moving to Ashford Police Station in 2023 (tbc). Please note that any excess travel costs from the existing contractual workplace to any future contractual workplace will not be paid and applicants are advised to take potential travel mileage increases into consideration when deciding to apply.
