Description:
The Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) is seeking a proactive and customer-focused Sales Executive (internally known as Member and Customer Development Executive) to engage with new and existing members and customers. This role is vital in ensuring members receive an excellent experience from first contact through onboarding and continued engagement. The successful candidate will play a key role in representing the IET, achieving sales activity targets, and building strong member and customer relationships.
As a Sales Executive, you will focus on outbound calls, identifying customer needs, presenting suitable IET products and services, and closing opportunities effectively. The role also requires managing sensitive customer information, assessing membership eligibility, ensuring smooth onboarding, and advocating for members by communicating their concerns and successes internally.
Key Responsibilities:
Proactively contact potential and existing members/customers via outbound telephone calls.
Achieve weekly and monthly activity targets while ensuring Service Level Agreements are met.
Deliver a seamless onboarding experience for new members and customers.
Assess eligibility and assign appropriate membership categories during membership applications.
Act as a member and customer advocate within the IET, ensuring feedback is communicated internally.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align initiatives with organizational objectives.
Track performance metrics, focusing on satisfaction, conversion, retention, and upselling.
Accurately process sensitive customer information, including payment details.
Represent the IET at relevant events as required.
Requirements:
Prior experience in customer service or sales roles, ideally with telephone-based sales.
Strong communication skills with an excellent telephone manner.
Solid organizational and time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
Experience in handling payment details and sensitive data with confidentiality.
Ability to work independently, take initiative, and demonstrate ownership.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and willingness to learn CRM/database systems.

Contract & Benefits:
6-month fixed-term contract, full-time.
