Description:
Janus Henderson Investors is seeking a Senior Investment Trust Sales Specialist to join its team in London. This hybrid role is ideal for a forward-thinking, client-centric professional with strong market knowledge and an in-depth understanding of investment trust structures. The selected individual will work alongside the Head of Investment Trust Sales to develop and execute a robust sales strategy tailored to professional investors across the UK.
The role involves actively representing the fund manager’s viewpoints, identifying investment opportunities, and building relationships with professional investors and trust boards. A deep understanding of financial markets and investment vehicles is essential, as well as the ability to articulate and tailor messages across different investor types. The candidate will also play a pivotal role in organizing client-facing events, managing stakeholder relationships, and coordinating with marketing and PR teams to ensure consistent communication and trust promotion.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with the Head of Investment Trust Sales on strategy execution for specific investment trusts
Develop strong professional investor relationships by combining market insights and product expertise
Represent fund manager perspectives to investors via various channels, highlighting key stock stories or asset class trends
Organize meetings and events with clients and fund managers
Coordinate with marketing, PR, and content managers to deliver a consistent sales message
Maintain and report on relationships with investment trust boards, providing feedback and context
Lead ad hoc client projects and assist in investor relations for corporate communications
Handle incoming requests and communication in collaboration with the Investment Trust team
Must-Have Skills:
Deep knowledge of the investment trust sector, including its structure, benefits, and limitations
Strong understanding of market dynamics (IMC qualification standard or higher)
Demonstrated success in asset growth and retention in competitive environments
Experience leading sales campaigns and evaluating success
Excellent presentation skills with adaptable messaging strategies
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a resourceful mindset
Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word), internet tools, and email systems
Solid literacy and numeracy skills including pricing calculations and business finance
Nice-to-Have Skills:
CRM experience (preferably Salesforce)
Comfortable dealing with senior executives
Familiarity with social media for business communication
