Sap Basis Administrator

Description:

Akkodis is seeking a talented and motivated SAP Basis Administrator / Analyst to join a nationally recognised manufacturing client based in Birmingham as they continue their ambitious digital transformation journey. This is a fantastic opportunity to become a core part of a dynamic internal IT team, taking on the role of technical subject matter expert (SME) for all aspects of SAP infrastructure.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing, optimising, and securing the SAP platform, ensuring it supports business needs with high availability, security, and performance. You will work across a broad technical landscape, translating business requirements into innovative SAP solutions, while also playing a key role in IT and business transformation projects. This role offers the chance to work with leading technologies, influence digital strategies, and support compliance with global standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead SAP infrastructure service management activities, ensuring reliability, security, and cost-effectiveness.

• Oversee third-party SAP hosting providers, ensuring SLAs and governance standards are met.

• Act as the SAP SME for IT initiatives and business transformation projects.

• Monitor SAP system performance, capacity, and availability, planning and implementing smart enhancements.

• Ensure compliance with SOx, audit requirements, ISO27001, and Cyber Essentials standards.

• Troubleshoot and resolve SAP incidents, providing support to users and ensuring root cause analysis is conducted.

• Collaborate with business and IT stakeholders to design scalable, business-aligned SAP solutions.

Candidate Profile:

• Strong experience in SAP Basis Administration within large-scale enterprise environments.

• In-depth knowledge of SAP infrastructure and associated technologies.

• Understanding of IT governance, service management, and audit principles.

• Ability to translate business needs into robust, scalable SAP solutions.

• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder engagement skills.
