Description:

Esland is seeking a Senior Childrens Residential Support Worker to join their growing, highly valued residential care team at Ivy Cottage, Nelson. Esland provides specialist services for children with therapeutic, EBD, and complex trauma needs. The role involves delivering high-quality care, supporting children’s development, and contributing to a nurturing, professional home environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to young people’s care plans, risk assessments, and their implementation.

  • Build effective relationships with young people, families (where appropriate), and external agencies.

  • Maintain the cleanliness and order of the home, involving young people in the process.

  • Maintain accurate, high-quality records under supervision and guidance.

  • Uphold professional standards of residential care in line with Esland and Ofsted expectations.

  • Support the educational and social development of each child, implementing Individual Education Programs.

  • Meet the emotional and physical needs of young people and maximize their developmental opportunities.

  • Provide support to the deputy/manager while on shift and perform senior duties as directed.

Requirements:

  • Level 3 Diploma in Children and Young People or equivalent (highly desirable).

  • Experience in a children’s home setting (essential).

  • Supervisory experience (essential).

  • Passion for nurturing young people.

  • Ability to work shift patterns, including sleep-ins (rota provided in advance, typically 2 on/4 off).

  • Full UK driving license (essential).

  • Must be over 21 years of age.

  • Successful employment subject to Full Enhanced DBS, right to work, and reference checks.
