Senior Clinical Nurse

The National Centre for Psychological Medicine is seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated Senior Clinical Nurse/Charge Nurse.

This is an opportunity to work in a unique rehabilitation setting, which has a history over many years of delivering care for people from across the UK who have severe and complex chronic conditions including severe ME/CFS, Functional Neurological Disorders, somataform conditions and medically unexplained symptoms.

Our aim is to help people make significant and sustained improvements in their overall health and quality of life. Our clinical outcomes are excellent and there is a pride within the experienced team who provide outstanding care. The successful applicant will work alongside the clinical team delivering a high standard of care using a biopsychosocial framework within a supportive MDT setting

We provide a variety of evidence based, psychological therapies and practical interventions. This will be in the form of individual sessions, joint sessions, and group work, all offered and led by all members of the MDT. This is a great opportunity to learn and develop existing skills in a pre-dominantly non-pharmacological setting.

Our care is person centred, and care planning individualised to meet patient rehabilitation needs.

Main duties of the job

Risk management.

Care planning with a strong focus on rehabilitation and recovery

Physical/psychological health monitoring and management.

Care planning

Medication management.

Providing clinical and management supervision to junior members of the team.

Leadership.

Group work.

Supporting manager with recruitment, auditing, staff management, service development and representation in meetings that the manager is unable to attend.
