As part of their Cloud & Engineering Practice, they are hiring a Senior Cloud Engineer to help design and deliver secure, resilient, and scalable cloud infrastructure solutions that directly enhance public services.

This is a critical and highly collaborative role where the Senior Cloud Engineer acts as the technical backbone for cloud deployment, DevOps practices, and infrastructure automation. You will work with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality outcomes and shape best practices across projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement secure, scalable cloud infrastructures using tools like Terraform or CloudFormation

  • Manage cloud resources and services (compute, storage, networking) on platforms such as AWS, Azure, and GCP

  • Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, and containerized services (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)

  • Implement load balancing, disaster recovery, monitoring, and scaling strategies

  • Contribute to system reliability, high availability, and compliance frameworks

  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to internal best practices and knowledge sharing

  • Line manage team members and support their technical and professional growth

  • Ensure alignment with UK public sector frameworks, security standards (e.g., NCSC CAF), and architecture principles

Skills & Expertise Required:

Essential:

  • Strong background in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)

  • Proficiency with IaC tools like Terraform and CI/CD tools

  • Solid programming skills in at least one language (e.g., Python, Bash, JavaScript)

  • Familiarity with container orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes)

  • Experience working in agile multidisciplinary teams

Desirable:

  • Prior experience in consultancy settings

  • Relevant cloud certifications (e.g., AWS DevOps Engineer, Azure Security Engineer)

  • Understanding of UK public sector frameworks like Technology Code of Practice

  • Experience with Agile methodologies and TDD (Test Driven Development)

Security Clearance Requirement:

  • Candidates must be eligible for SC (Security Check) clearance, which requires 5 years of continuous UK residency and employment or full-time education history.
