Accruent is looking for a Senior Legal Counsel – Compliance & Employment to join its Legal team. This person will own and drive company-wide compliance, such as whistle blower complaints, ethics investigations, third party risk assessment review, commercial and trade compliance, and policy compliance. The attorney will also serve as a trusted advisor to the company’s HR team on employment and labor matters and advise the General Counsel on legal matters related to Accruent’s legal operations and compliance, and support of its business partners. This position is a great opportunity for the right attorney to deploy their knowledge and drive value across a global organization while gaining valuable legal and business experience.

The attorney will also have the opportunity to be a people manager and coach and manage the Legal Department’s Paralegal and Legal Analyst team to help deliver on the Accruent and Fortive goal of building extraordinary teams.

Additionally, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to learn the Fortive Business System (FBS), a powerful set of tools and methods that allows operating companies of Fortive, such as Accruent, to drive growth and innovation, ensure safety and quality, minimize waste, deliver for our customers, lead effectively, and scale our successes.

This position reports directly to the General Counsel and may be remote (US)

How You'll Make a Difference:
 

  • Develop and/or administer company-wide legal programs such as compliance, risk management, policy management, third party risk assessment, and corporate governance.
  • Track and manage company compliance KPIs.
  • Promote compliance programs and initiatives to the Company’s leadership team.
  • Develop and manage training programs to increase employee awareness and understanding of Company compliance programs.
  • Support the company’s incident reporting and investigation process directly by investigating allegations of misconduct and prepping reports, and by providing support and advice to internal investigators and outside firms conducting investigations.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to the company’s HR team and provide guidance on labor, employment and compensation matters.
  • Conduct research and share legal advice on a wide range of matters regarding Accruent’s operations
  • Assist with ad hoc legal initiatives (e.g., entity structuring, privacy/security, data usage rights analysis, risk mitigation, etc.)

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage and coach a team 7-10+ years of experience, including at least 3+ years of compliance and employment work, with a preference for candidates with meaningful in-house experience
  • Knowledge of applicable US laws and regulations, including FCPA, FLSA, ADA, NLRA, FMLA and the Civil Rights Acts. Familiarity with employment and labor laws in the UK, the Netherlands, Australia and/or Brazil would be a plus
  • Compensation commensurate with experience
  • Experience with software or technology industry, data privacy and information security preferred but not required
