Senior Costing Specialist

Description:

Scottish Water, a trusted provider of essential water services across Scotland, is inviting applications for the position of Senior Costing Specialist (officially titled Senior Commercial Specialist). This full-time role is a key part of the Digital Contract Management Team, which operates within the Digital Directorate—an area at the forefront of the organization's transformation initiatives.

The successful candidate will be instrumental in overseeing a diverse and substantial portfolio of digital contracts, including software, SaaS, hardware, consultancy, and support services. The role emphasizes contract performance tracking, compliance, value optimization, and vendor relationship management. You will also play a central role in negotiating new contracts and renewals, minimizing contractual risk, and ensuring best value through strategic supplier management.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and oversee contracts within the Digital Directorate covering a wide range of services and products

• Lead negotiations for new and renewal contracts ensuring alignment with business goals and value optimization

• Develop and refine processes for supplier performance tracking and contract compliance

• Serve as a key liaison for internal departments and external vendors regarding contract issues, queries, and disputes

• Support budgeting, invoicing, and payment processes

• Contribute to digital procurement projects, including KPI/SLA development and supplier evaluations

• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure digital strategy alignment with contract operations

Requirements:

• Proven experience in supplier and contract management, particularly in the digital/IT domain

• Proficiency in managing KPIs, SLAs, and performance assessments

• Strong administrative, analytical, documentation, and reporting skills

• Effective stakeholder communication and relationship-building abilities

• Familiarity with contract legal terminology and negotiation is beneficial

• Comfortable working collaboratively in a team-oriented and high-paced environment

Employment Details:

• Work Pattern: Full-time (35 hours/week), Monday to Friday

• Contract Type: Permanent

• Location Requirement: Must reside in Scotland or be willing to relocate within 3 months

• Salary Range: Starting at £41000, rising to £51970 based on performance
