Description:
The Senior Data Engineer will work closely with software engineers, product teams, data specialists and technical leadership to design and deliver reliable, scalable data solutions.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Building robust data pipelines and backend data services using Python and SQL
- Designing data APIs, semantic layers and curated datasets
- Developing cloud-native data solutions within AWS
- Structuring and modelling complex engineering and simulation data
- Supporting analytics, machine learning and AI-driven product capabilities
- Working with Product Managers to translate requirements into scalable technical solutions
- Collaborating with Data, AI, BI, QA and Software Engineering teams
- Contributing to CI/CD, infrastructure-as-code and DevOps practices
- Maintaining high standards across data quality, testing, monitoring and performance
- Evaluating new tools, frameworks and architectural approaches as the platform evolves
What We're Looking For
- Strong commercial experience in data engineering or backend software engineering
- Advanced Python development skills
- Strong SQL skills, including complex querying and data modelling
- Hands-on experience building and deploying solutions within AWS
- Experience developing production-grade data pipelines and services
- Practical knowledge of ETL and ELT tooling such as Airflow, dbt, Airbyte, Temporal or Fivetran
- Experience with data warehousing and modern data architecture patterns
- A strong understanding of data validation, testing, monitoring and quality
- Experience working within a software product or technology-led environment
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work across technical and non-technical teams
