Description:
This role requires extensive experience with managing projects on GitHub and GitHub Enterprise Cloud (GHEC). Additionally, the job calls for proficiency in handling various source code management systems, such as GitLab, Perforce, ClearCase, and SVN, particularly in large organisations. This role requires a blend of technical expertise and great communication skills to proficiently manage GitHub within a highly complex engineering environment.
Required Experience:
- 5+ years in Git related source control and CI/CD systems management roles
- Experience managing GitHub in a large enterprise environment
- Demonstrated success in multiple migrations to GitHub Cloud from various source code management systems
- Experience with GCP and Azure, including Entra ID (Identity platform)
- Robust DevOps mindset, focusing on creating reliable, scalable and innovative solutions
- Proficient with GitHub Actions for CI/CD, automation and orchestration using the GitHub APIs
- Exemplary problem-solving skills for addressing post-migration issues
- Solid ability to communicate successfully with stakeholders, including management and engineering teams
- Proficient in the use of Python
- Experience with infrastructure, network and configuration management systems
- Experience with Linux and Windows server administration
- Proficient with tools like Splunk, Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana, etc.
Key responsibilities & duties include:
- Administer and optimise GitHub Enterprise Cloud (GHEC), ensuring reliability, security and scalability across the organisation
- Lead migrations from legacy source control systems (e.g., GitLab, Perforce, ClearCase, SVN) to GitHub Cloud with minimal disruption
- Design, implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines and automation using GitHub Actions and GitHub APIs
- Integrate GitHub with Azure Entra ID, GCP and Azure environments, ensuring secure and seamless authentication
- Define and implement governance, access controls and best practices for source control and workflow management
- Monitor and troubleshoot performance and operational issues using tools such as Splunk, Datadog, Prometheus and Grafana
- Collaborate with engineering and infrastructure teams to drive a DevOps-first culture focused on reliability and automation
- Evaluate and implement new tools and practices to enhance scalability, developer productivity and platform performance
