Senior Ecologist

Corriculo Recruitment is hiring an experienced Senior Ecologist to join a growing environmental consultancy that is making a real difference across the UK. Based in either Glasgow or Perth, with hybrid flexibility, this role is ideal for an ecologist looking to step into a senior, high-impact position within a purpose-driven and collaborative team.

As a Senior Ecologist, you will lead the design, delivery, and reporting of ecological services across a diverse client base. Working alongside hydrologists, construction professionals, and aquatics specialists, your work will influence major planning and environmental compliance processes. You will handle a broad range of responsibilities from Habitat Regulations Assessments and Ecological Impact Assessments (EIAs) to Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) strategies and protected species licensing.

Key Responsibilities:

• Take leadership on multiple ecological projects across various sectors.

• Prepare and review technical documentation including EIAs, ecological reports, and biodiversity net gain plans.

• Advise clients on ecological regulations and planning requirements.

• Conduct field surveys and manage ecological impact assessments.

• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to provide sustainable, policy-compliant solutions.

Key Requirements:

• A degree or postgraduate qualification in Ecology, Environmental Science, or a related discipline.

• Membership of CIEEM (preferably working towards Chartership).

• Strong knowledge of UK habitat classifications, protected species, and ecological regulations.

• Experience in producing ecological reports, conducting species surveys, and applying for licences.

• Familiarity with biodiversity net gain and environmental planning policies.

• A full UK driving licence is required.
