g2 Recruitment is seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join a leading Building Services Consultancy renowned for delivering exceptional electrical design solutions for theatres, museums, galleries, and other cultural and heritage projects across the UK.

You will be responsible for leading electrical design elements across various stages of projects, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, ensuring compliance with technical standards, and delivering high-quality solutions on time and within scope.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and deliver electrical design for building services in cultural, heritage, and performing arts environments.

• Develop detailed design drawings, schematics, and technical documentation using AutoCAD, Revit, and Amtech (or equivalent).

• Specify electrical systems including lighting, power distribution, and control systems suited to complex public or performance spaces.

• Collaborate closely with architects, mechanical engineers, and project stakeholders to achieve design integration and client satisfaction.

• Attend client and site meetings when required, ensuring alignment between design intent and execution.

• Support junior engineers and provide technical guidance where necessary.

• Ensure compliance with relevant British Standards, regulations, and best practice guidelines.

• Manage multiple projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines and maintaining exceptional quality standards.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

• Proven professional experience in electrical building services design.

• Prior exposure to arts, cultural, heritage, or entertainment projects highly advantageous.

• Strong technical knowledge of lighting design, power distribution, control systems, and sustainability considerations.

• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and Amtech (or equivalent industry-standard design software).

• Excellent communication and coordination abilities across multidisciplinary teams.

• Chartered Engineer (CEng) status or working towards it is desirable.

• A proactive, self-motivated professional able to work independently in a remote setting.

• Strong problem-solving skills and an eye for detail in creative, complex projects.

Contract Details:

• Start Date: ASAP or within 4–6 weeks.

• Duration: Initial 6-month contract (with potential for extension).

• Location: Remote (UK-based) with occasional client or site visits.

• Status: Outside IR35.

• Rates: Dependent on experience (DOE).
