Senior Engineer

The Senior Safety Case Engineer role is part of the Energy Unit, specifically the Nuclear; Defence and Civil division. The role involves supporting nuclear power generation, naval nuclear programmes, and decommissioning projects. Key responsibilities include:

• Production of safety cases (e.g., SJP, PCSR, PCmSR, PRS)

• Handling modification/design change submissions (LC/AC 22)

• Decommissioning support

• Functional safety assessment

• Regulatory interface and compliance

• ALARP, safety, and risk assessments

• Deterministic and probabilistic safety assessments

• Nuclear safety legislation, regulation, and policy adherence

• Engineering substantiation

• Conducting HAZOP, HAZAN, criticality, and nuclear fire studies

Candidate Requirements:

• Degree in Science, Technology, or Engineering

• Chartered Engineer or working towards it

• Demonstrated experience delivering nuclear safety strategy and deliverables

• Ability to mentor junior staff

• Eligibility to obtain Security Clearance (offers conditional on this)
