Senior Engineer

Description:

Are you an experienced Civil Engineer with a background in residential developments? This is an exciting opportunity to join a leading housebuilder as a Senior Engineer, working on large-scale housing projects.

Based in the Cambourne office, you’ll take ownership of the engineering elements of multiple developments, ensuring roads, drainage, utilities, and infrastructure are designed, coordinated, and delivered efficiently. This role will see you working closely with technical, land, planning, and construction teams, as well as managing external consultants, local authorities, and statutory bodies.

The Role:

• Lead engineering design from feasibility through to build completion.
• Support the land team with technical appraisals and early-stage viability studies.
• Prepare and review engineering layouts, drainage strategies, and adoption agreements.
• Liaise with local authorities, highways, drainage, and utility providers.
• Oversee Section 38, Section 104, and Section 278 agreements.
• Provide guidance and support to site managers and the wider project teams.
• Ensure compliance with NHBC, Building Regulations, planning, and technical standards.

About You:

• Previous experience as an Engineer or Senior Engineer with a housebuilder, developer, or civil consultancy.
• Strong technical knowledge of highways, drainage, utilities, and groundworks.
• Ability to manage multiple live projects at varying stages.
• Confident in liaising with external consultants and statutory authorities.
• A problem-solver with excellent organisational and communication skills.
