We are currently looking for a talented and motivated Senior Engineer or Principal Engineer to join our Development Infrastructure team. This role will be based out of our Edinburgh office with a mix of office and home working.

Working as part of a team you will be developing innovative solutions to today’s global challenges. Delivering sustainable designs that serve the needs of society today and into the future, through the provision of integrated multi-disciplinary consultancy services to our Clients.

You will be working on a variety of projects including development schemes from inception through detailed design and on into construction

In This Role You Will Be Expected To

  • Manage and deliver a portfolio of projects, leading design teams to ensure the successful delivery to time and budget.
  • Balance workload to prioritise deliverables and ensure the expected quality is produced to agreed timescales.
  • Checking and reviewing work prepared by others
  • Manage and mentor less experienced team members
  • Work in close collaboration with other team members and other disciplines.
  • Understand and comply with the Company Integrated Management Systems (IMS) and take cognisance of current Health & Safety legislation.
  • Report to the appropriate team leader on technical issues associated with project work.
  • Ensuring that the technical content of all work carried out is correct and carried out to agreed timescales and budgets and in full compliance with the Company’s IMS taking cognisance of H&S legislation requirements.
  • Providing technical guidance and training to less experienced employees and assisting the mentoring and development of colleagues.
  • Recommending/implementing improvements to technical policy, processes and design solutions and share via the knowledge management channels as appropriate.

To Be Successful In This Role You’ll Possess

  • A relevant qualification in civil engineering – a MEng would be preferrable but not essential for the right applicant.
  • A recognised professional qualification or be working towards an application within a defined timescale.
  • Good organisational and project management skills required to support multiple live projects.
  • Knowledge and experience of the residential sector an advantage
  • Experience of working on multi-disciplinary projects.
  • Experience of development schemes (brownfield and greenfield sites).
  • Civil infrastructure design experience with good technical knowledge within own expertise area.
  • Experience of statutory or third party approvals
  • Competence in PDS and/or Civils 3D.
  • Competence WinDes and/or Flow software
