Senior Event Manager

 

Description:

As the Senior Event Manager, you will be the Charity’s true ambassador and cheerleader! You will lead a small team, being supportive and innovative with them to encourage the right results. You will focus on the effective delivery, operations and logistics of all events and will manage the Events Calendar for the year, continually assessing the Events to ensure you are getting maximum exposure from them. The Events are incredibly detailed and include some of the region’s largest award ceremonies and flagship networking and social events. You will play a key part at each event, leading and working with your events team.

What you’ll be doing as a Senior Event Manager:

 

  • Leading a small team within the office and a larger team at each individual Event with the aim of successful delivery of all events from start to finish
  • Positive and effective leadership to ensure the right results, conducting 121’s, succession planning within the team and daily mentoring
  • You will manage the Events Calendar for the Charity and you will manage on all fundraising event budgets
  • You will manage the delivery and logistical elements of every event and attend each event to ensure fundraising opportunities are being maximised and delivered to the highest possible standard
  • Forward planning year on year to assess growth and increased delivery
  • Working with the Programmes and Marketing Managers to assess funds for each event
  • Working with other internal stakeholders to approve Event activities and marketing such as storyboard appeal videos
  • Continually assessing fundraising activities at all events and being creative in your ideas
  • End to end event management and communication with all internal and external stakeholders including post event analysis to, collating effective event feedback
  • Working with the Marketing & PR team to maximise social media and PR activity to promote all events
  • Floor managing all fundraising Events and subsequent delegating to Event Managers, including set up, de-rig, managing volunteers etc.
  • Being creative in your approach to develop wider ideas and initiatives to contribute to the growth of the charity
  • Flexible and willing to work outside normal hours to attend the Events – these are mainly Yorkshire based

 

What we are looking for:

 

  • Ideally 5 years’ experience of delivering events at a large scale with extensive levels of detail needed for each event
  • Any exposure to leadership would be an advantage
  • Superb levels of attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and relationship management experience
  • Drive, ambition and a strong sense of initiative whilst being humble and curious in your approach to learning about the Charity and the events that they run
  • An ‘ideasy’ person with a unique approach.
  • Drive, ambition, and a strong sense of initiative.
  • Excellent attention to detail and proof-reading skills, with strong written communication ability.
  • A team player mentality and a contagious enthusiasm.
