Senior Finance Analyst

 

Description:

We're hiring a Senior Finance Analyst to ensure the delivery of a robust and proactive financial and management accounting service. You'll provide sound and effective operational finance management to support the division in meeting its month end deliverables.

You will also play a key part in centralising support activities and also streamlining the month end activities through automation and removal of non-value-added activities.
 

  • Review and approve expense ledger or tax journals for posting to the Oracle accounting system and other relevant accounting and tax applications, as part of statutory financial or regulatory reporting period end close, in accordance with Ledger Management KPI’s and Groupwide timetables.
  • Responsible for closing multiple ledgers and co-ordinating tasks amongst the Finance Analysts ensuring all month end deliverables are completed.
  • Reconcile and source system feeds into the expense ledger and ensure robust controls and reconciliations are in place and further explore and implement automation of feeds.
  • Maintain and monitor robust accounting standards, policies and financial controls across the team to ensure compliance with the Group Standards, statutory requirements and the control framework
  • Support the Finance manager by undertaking ad-hoc analysis and projects, as required, to further develop the success of the division’s and own personal profile within the division.
  • Responsible for the accurate and timely preparation of the monthly financial / management accounts, and balance sheet commentary, intercompany payment schedule calculations in accordance with Groupwide deliverables timetable.
  • Responsible for financial reconciliations, including the investigation and clearance of outstanding items, as per deadlines mandated in the Ledger Management reconciliations KPI spreadsheet, ensuring the reasons for reconciling items are clearly and concisely explained. Also review reconciliations of the Finance Analysts in the team and liaise Group Finance and the divisional Finance teams.
  • To work independently and take the initiative to develop relationships and work with stakeholders to help them understand financial perspectives.
  • Finalist or newly qualified accountant or equivalent experience
  • Strong understanding of accounting processes and principles
  • Understanding of cost allocation and profit measurement (Value Added Management), annual/quarterly planning and forecasting cycle, financial approval procedures/processes and monthly expenditure reporting and analysis processes, and alternative cross-charging methodologies and behavioural implications.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment
  • Ability to influence others and operate in a complex matrix structure.
  • Using logical argument and data, challenge peers and Directors.
  • Ability to demonstrate strong inter personal skills to interact with all levels of business and to develop and maintain strong relationships with finance and non finance individuals
  • Advanced knowledge in the use of spreadsheets, databases and analysis tools.
  • Ability to design, develop and maintain financial models
