Job description

CDIO CSG purpose is to drive a customer centric approach to transforming services for HMRC Customers. Working closely with business stakeholders, contractors, and suppliers - our aim is to drive digital innovation and to re-engineer services aligned to our IT, contractual and sourcing strategies and to deliver significantly improved services.

The role is within the CDIO CSG Pega Delivery Team, which is focused on developing, running & optimising applications on PegaCloud configured through low code technology to deliver better customer service and adviser experience.

As a Senior Frontend Developer, you’ll be part of a creative and motivated multi-disciplinary team working across a number of digital services. You will be responsible for setting UI and UX direction and best practice across these services. Your day to day will be varied – from defining and refining UI of new and existing digital services, to assuring we’re building them with accessibility, user experience and reusability in mind.

Responsibilities

This role primarily involves:
 

  • Having a proven understanding of technical accessibility, including how to design and build accessible technical patterns.

 

  • Providing consultation of design of front end patterns across the platform.

 

  • Helping set direction and embedding good practice within teams make decisions based on research.

 

  • Planning and leading development on sets of related stories, working with other disciplines to understand what needs to be built.

 

  • Having an understanding of whole services.

 

  • Teaching and mentoring others


Essential Criteria:

You will need to demonstrate within your application the following essential experience in:
 

  • Pega – a Senior System Architect (SSA) level of proven technical Pega understanding is required.

 

  • Experience in designing and integrating in Pega Customer Service version 8.x.

 

  • Designing and/or building accessible patterns.

 

  • Experience and understanding of Agile approaches to digital delivery, such as scrum.

 

  • Excellent communication skills, communicating technical and business matters clearly.

 

  • Comfortable under constructive challenge, acting as a critical advisor to achieve solutions which are fit for purpose.


Desirable Criteria :
 

  • Pega Certified Senior System Architect (CSSA) (or willingness to attain within first 6 months).

 

  • Experience with the Pega Customer Service product.
