Description:
You’ll be responsible for overseeing global VAT compliance processes, managing a small team, and working closely with senior leadership to drive best practice across the group. The role offers a blend of hands-on technical work, team leadership, and continuous improvement initiatives.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Leading and developing a VAT compliance team, ensuring clarity in ownership and consistently high standards.
- Taking ownership of global VAT returns, ensuring all filings are accurate, timely, and aligned with internal processes.
- Building strong relationships with external compliance partners and advisors to ensure smooth service delivery.
- Reviewing VAT balance sheet reconciliations, cash forecasting, and VAT journals with a focus on accuracy and risk management.
- Driving process improvements and supporting the transition of compliance activities across regions where needed.
- Embedding a culture of accountability and continuous learning within the team.
- Monitoring compliance KPIs and supporting internal governance initiatives.
- Delivering tailored training to enhance technical capability and operational efficiency.
- Ensuring proactive clearing of VAT accounts post-return to minimise reclaim risks.
