Description:

The Financial Times, a globally renowned news organisation, is seeking a Senior Information Designer to join FT Longitude, its research-driven content division. The role is central to delivering thought leadership campaigns for leading B2B brands, helping to transform complex data and insights into clear, creative, and impactful visual stories across both print and digital platforms.

As a senior member of the design team, you will be responsible for translating research findings into compelling visuals including infographics, reports, illustrations, eBooks, and interactive campaign assets. You will collaborate with strategists, editors, creatives, developers, and clients, ensuring consistency in visual storytelling and brand alignment. The role requires both hands-on design expertise and the ability to confidently present and adapt creative ideas based on feedback.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Translate complex research and strategic insights into visually engaging formats.

  • Design high-quality content for print and digital, such as infographics, reports, illustrations, campaign materials, and interactive assets.

  • Develop creative concepts aligned with client briefs and brand guidelines.

  • Build reusable design templates and asset libraries.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, editors, and copywriters, to ensure integrated storytelling.

  • Contribute assets for animations, interactive explainers, and scrollytelling projects.

  • Manage client-facing presentations, confidently showcasing design ideas.

  • Independently manage multiple project streams while driving innovation in visual approaches.

Key Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in information design, data visualisation, or graphic design.

  • Strong portfolio demonstrating infographics, long-form content, and marketing visuals.

  • Expertise in Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, and Figma; proficiency in Photoshop; familiarity with After Effects and Acrobat desirable.

  • Strong data visualisation and storytelling skills with attention to narrative clarity.

  • Knowledge of UX design, wireframing, and scrollytelling platforms (e.g., Shorthand, Turtl, Wagtail).

  • Ability to set and maintain visual direction while adapting to varied brand voices.

  • High attention to detail in layout, typography, and consistency.

  • Experience working with B2B, tech, or professional services clients preferred.

  • Comfortable collaborating with developers on interactive design projects.
