Senior Landscape Architect

The Gardenists is a globally recognized landscape design firm renowned for crafting exquisite gardens and outdoor spaces for a select group of private clients and estates. Merging creativity with architectural elegance, the firm is seeking a highly experienced Senior Landscape Architect to join its design team in Pimlico, London.

This is a pivotal full-time, on-site role focused on the design and execution of bespoke luxury landscaping projects. The ideal candidate will be a visionary with hands-on leadership experience, deep horticultural knowledge, and the technical expertise to bring high-end, innovative designs to life.

Key Responsibilities:

Design Leadership:

• Develop conceptually strong, luxury-standard landscape designs.

• Translate creative vision into technically sound plans aligned with client briefs and expectations.

Project Oversight:

• Manage project scopes, timelines, deliverables, and budgets.

• Prepare and review proposals, fee structures, and performance metrics for ongoing and new projects.

Team Coordination:

• Lead internal design teams and liaise with external consultants (architects, contractors, engineers).

• Conduct weekly progress reviews and define staffing/resource needs and objectives.

Construction Oversight:

• Oversee on-site construction phases and ensure adherence to quality standards and design intent.

• Offer ongoing technical support and guidance to construction teams.

Key Skills and Experience:

High-End Project Expertise:

• Demonstrated success working on luxury estate gardens, hotels, or exclusive urban landscape projects.

• Ability to manage multiple, complex projects efficiently and with meticulous attention to detail.

Technical Proficiency:

• Proficient in AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUp, and rendering tools such as Lumion.

• Strong design capabilities across all project stages — from concept through to construction documentation.

Horticultural Knowledge:

• In-depth knowledge of UK plants; additional horticultural expertise is considered a strong asset.

Communication Skills:

• Excellent presentation skills, particularly when working with ultra-high-net-worth individuals (UHNWI).

• Clear and professional written and verbal communication, with the ability to engage stakeholders confidently.

Leadership and Teamwork:

• Experience in managing and mentoring design teams.

• Ability to coordinate across disciplines and guide teams to successful project delivery.
