The university operates an extensive estate comprising over 120,000m² across Central London, Havering, Croydon, Lambeth, and Southwark. Having already invested significantly in its infrastructure, LSBU continues to pursue ambitious development and modernization goals.

In this senior leadership role, you will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and asset replacement programs managed by outsourced FM providers. You will play a key role in supporting LSBU’s estate master planning and leading the continuous improvement and sustainability of M&E systems across all campuses within the LSBU Group.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage outsourced facilities maintenance providers to ensure efficient and cost-effective delivery of PPM and asset lifecycle services.

  • Lead on strategic planning and implementation of M&E improvements, refurbishments, and equipment upgrades.

  • Contribute to the university's estate master planning and align asset strategies with organisational development.

  • Oversee and improve asset performance across campuses in Southwark, Havering, Croydon, Lambeth, and associated LSBU group sites.

  • Deliver excellent customer service while maintaining strict adherence to budgetary controls.

  • Provide expert leadership in technical building services and ensure compliance with all relevant legislation and standards.

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external service partners.

Candidate Profile:

  • Proven track record in managing large-scale, complex estate operations and outsourced FM contracts.

  • Strong technical knowledge of mechanical and electrical building services systems.

  • Excellent leadership, stakeholder engagement, and strategic planning skills.

  • Capable of delivering operational excellence in a highly customer-focused environment.

What Makes This Role Stand Out:

This is an exciting opportunity to join a values-driven university that champions access, diversity, and impact. As part of the leadership team shaping LSBU's future estate, you will make a meaningful difference in how the university delivers its mission of inclusive and applied education.
