Description:
The Calico Group is seeking a Group Talent and Development Manager to lead its passionate Talent & Development Team and shape how learning and growth are delivered across the organization. This senior leadership role involves managing a skilled team, collaborating with senior leaders, and driving a culture of continuous development, inclusion, and operational excellence.
As part of Group Business Services (GBS), you will play a pivotal role in aligning learning strategies with organizational objectives outlined in the Corporate Plan 2026–2029. This includes designing and implementing leadership development initiatives, succession planning, digital learning transformation, and capability-building programs that improve customer outcomes and strengthen services across multiple sites.
The successful candidate will manage learning infrastructure, oversee compliance with regulatory standards (e.g., CQC, Housing Regulator), and ensure data-driven decision-making to measure impact effectively. This role offers a unique opportunity to make a significant contribution to organizational culture and workforce capability while supporting Calico’s mission to build stronger communities.
Lead the Talent & Development team to deliver innovative, practical, and inclusive learning initiatives.
Shape and execute leadership development, talent management, and succession planning strategies.
Drive the implementation of digital learning platforms and transformation projects.
Oversee learning systems to ensure accessibility and effectiveness.
Collaborate with senior leaders to build skills, behaviours, and culture aligned with organizational goals.
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and embed safe service standards.
Use data and evaluation models to assess the impact of learning programs and guide strategic decisions.
Essential:
Relevant L&D qualification.
Demonstrated experience leading L&D or OD teams in regulated, complex environments.
Proven track record in designing and delivering impactful learning and leadership programmes.
Strong communication and influencing skills across all organizational levels.
Knowledge of adult learning theory, inclusive design, and digital learning platforms.
Familiarity with regulatory compliance standards related to learning and development.
Desirable:
CIPD Level 5 or 7.
Coaching or mentoring accreditation.
Experience with SCORM, Articulate 360, Vyond, and LMS platforms.
Knowledge of Apprenticeship Levy governance and ESFA compliance.
Experience managing learning initiatives across multiple sites and services.
