Senior Legal Counsel

Description:

Molson Coors Beverage Company, a global leader in the beverage industry with a portfolio of iconic brands including Coors, Carling, Madri Excepcional, Blue Moon, Rekorderlig, Staropramen, Doom Bar, and Aspall, is seeking a Senior Legal Counsel to join their UK&I team on a fixed-term contract of around 7 months.

This role will be central in safeguarding the company’s interests, driving operational excellence, and ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory frameworks. As Senior Legal Counsel, you will act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership and contribute to Molson Coors’ long-standing commitment to responsible business practices, sustainability, and innovation.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide strategic legal support to UK&I business units, aligning legal advice with commercial objectives.

• Draft, negotiate, and oversee complex agreements, including M&A, disposals, high-value partnerships, and projects.

• Drive legal compliance, governance, and regulatory reporting, ensuring adherence to global standards on ethics and sustainability.

• Manage, mentor, and develop legal professionals to build a high-performing legal team.

• Represent the company in litigation, disputes, and regulatory investigations, maintaining strong stakeholder relationships.

• Oversee external counsel engagement, ensuring efficiency and alignment with business goals.

• Lead legal operations improvement, including process optimisation, template development, and leveraging legal technology/AI.

• Serve as a contributor to Crisis Management Team and enterprise-wide risk mitigation strategies.

Qualifications & Skills

• UK-qualified Solicitor with practising certificate.

• Substantial post-qualification legal experience, ideally in-house.

• Demonstrated ability to balance legal risk with business priorities.

• Strong communication, influencing, and stakeholder management skills.

• Experience in managing legal budgets and external counsel.

• Commercially astute with a strategic, solution-oriented mindset.
