Senior Library Assistant

Description:

We are looking to recruit a Senior Library Assistant for the Taylor Institution Library, which holds the University's collections for the study of Modern European languages and literatures, other than English.

Within this role, you will assist with collections management projects and work on upgrading catalogue records, providing support to the Stock Supervisor and library assistants in this capacity. You will also contribute to Reader Services work, as overseen by the Reader Services Manager for Section 3, and supervised day-to-day by the Taylor Reader Services Supervisor.

You will have previous experience of working in an academic library, with the ability to work with bibliographic records and items in European languages, ideally including non-Roman scripts (Cyrillic/Greek). You will be an excellent communicator with strong customer service skills, as well as the ability to work well both in a team and with minimal supervision. Furthermore, you will have a high standard of IT skills, including MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), use of email and internet search engines.
