Senior Pensions Administrator

 

Description:

WTW is seeking a self-driven and passionate Senior Pensions Administrator to join its pensions team in Redhill, Leeds, or Welwyn. This role is ideal for experienced professionals who possess a strong background in Defined Benefit (DB) and/or Defined Contribution (DC) pensions administration and are eager to contribute their expertise to a dynamic and supportive team.

In this role, you will handle advanced calculations, complex schemes, and serve as a senior reference point for technical and non-standard pension cases. You will play a key leadership role in mentoring junior team members, reviewing and challenging their work, and ensuring quality service delivery across the board. The position also involves deputising in the absence of the Team Leader, supporting project and complaint-related work, and continuously identifying improvements in client service delivery.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing support to clients and members on DB and some DC pension schemes.

  • Ensuring service level agreements and performance standards are consistently met.

  • Acting as a senior technical expert and point of escalation within the team.

  • Reviewing and verifying work completed by junior associates.

  • Training and mentoring junior staff through regular feedback and coaching.

  • Assisting with complex cases and project work, including complaints.

  • Identifying opportunities to enhance service quality and sharing insights with leadership.

  • Managing workload to ensure deadlines and targets are consistently achieved.

Required qualifications and experience:

  • Strong experience in occupational pension scheme administration.

  • Proven experience in guiding and mentoring junior team members.

  • Excellent communication skills—both verbal and written.

  • High attention to detail and the ability to deliver work with precision.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

  • Customer-oriented with a commitment to service excellence.

  • Proficient in using relevant computer systems and tools.
