Senior Physical Implementation Engineer

Description:

Arm is seeking highly skilled and motivated System-on-Chip (SoC) Performance and Power (PnP) Modeling Architects to join their team. The role focuses on analysis and optimization of Arm SoCs/SoPs across pre- and post-silicon environments, working closely with design teams and customers to develop advanced silicon platforms for various markets including servers, accelerators, client devices, infrastructure, IoT, and automotive.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct architectural investigations and PnP tradeoff studies across SoC components such as CPU, GPU, NPU, media, IO, interconnects, and memory controllers.

• Perform workload characterization to identify bottlenecks and suggest architectural solutions.

• Collaborate and build consensus across architects and IP teams.

• Develop profiling and visualization frameworks for analysis.

• Automate and streamline production processes.

• Keep current with advancements in workload characterization, performance, power, and thermal analysis.

Required Skills and Experience:

• 8+ years experience in SoC Performance Modeling and semiconductor industry.

• Background in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science with expertise in computer architecture and microarchitecture.

• Deep knowledge of CPU/GPU microarchitecture including processor pipelines, caches, and memory hierarchy.

• Proficiency in C/C++, Python scripting, and familiarity with SystemC TLM.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Nice To Have:

• Knowledge of interconnect microarchitecture, PCIe/CXL, CHI protocols.

• Understanding system constraints (e.g., TDP limits) and workload optimization.

• Experience with Unix, scripting, and source control systems (Git, Subversion).
