Senior Private Client Solicitor

Description:

An established and respected law firm in Surrey is seeking a highly experienced Senior Private Client Solicitor to take on the pivotal role of Head of Department for their Private Client practice. This leadership position offers the chance to manage a well-established team, oversee a diverse and high-quality caseload, and contribute to the firm’s strategic direction.

The role includes handling a comprehensive range of private client matters such as:

• Drafting wills and estate planning

• Probate and estate administration

• Creation and administration of trusts

• Preparing and advising on Lasting Powers of Attorney

• Court of Protection applications and representation

In addition to managing complex cases, the successful candidate will mentor junior team members, support strategic planning, and actively participate in business development efforts to expand the department's footprint and client base.

Key Requirements:

• At least 5 years of post-qualification experience (PQE) in Private Client law.

• Strong expertise across wills, probate, trusts, LPAs, and Court of Protection.

• Proven experience in leading or supervising a legal team.

• Outstanding interpersonal, communication, and client care skills.

• A proactive and commercial mindset focused on departmental growth and client service excellence.
