Description:
Frontiers, one of the world’s largest open-access research publishers, is seeking a Senior Product Manager (Specialist Efficiency) to oversee and enhance the Salesforce-based applications that power its Publishing Operations teams. This position plays a key role in improving efficiency, integrity, and integration across internal workflows that support the research publication process.
As part of Frontiers’ mission to make science open and accessible, this role combines strategic product management with a hands-on approach to optimizing user experience for internal teams such as Research Integrity, Review Operations, and Production. The position will require working closely with leadership, technology, and product teams to align systems and processes with the organization’s publishing priorities.
Key Responsibilities:
Own the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for Salesforce applications supporting Publishing Operations.
Act as the primary liaison for all Salesforce-related projects within the publishing division.
Collaborate with Research Integrity, Review Operations, and Production teams to understand user needs and pain points.
Translate complex operational requirements into user stories and product solutions, working alongside Salesforce administrators and developers.
Partner with Product Managers of the core publishing platform to ensure integration and smooth data exchange.
Manage product launches in alignment with publishing operations to minimize disruption.
Promote adoption of new features and tools through training, documentation, and continuous feedback cycles.
Monitor system performance, gather data insights, and make iterative improvements to maximize efficiency.
Maintain high standards of data integrity, scalability, and automation reliability.
Stay current with Salesforce capabilities, recommending new functionalities and optimizations.
Required Qualifications:
Proven experience as a Product Manager or Product Owner in managing software applications.
Strong stakeholder management, communication, and analytical skills.
Proficiency in conducting user interviews, translating feedback into actionable insights, and using prototypes to improve usability.
Ability to lead cross-functional teams, collaborating with engineers, administrators, and non-technical users.
Excellent command of English, both written and verbal.
Ideal Experience and Knowledge:
Deep understanding of internal operational workflows, ideally in publishing or content management environments.
Familiarity with Salesforce architecture, including automation tools such as Flow, and reporting functionalities.
Experience in academic or scientific publishing operations will be a strong advantage.
