Senior Programme Manager

Description:

Robert Walters, through its outsourcing service line Resource Solutions Limited, is recruiting for a Senior Programme Manager specialising in Technology and Data Transformation. This is a high-profile contract role based in London, offering the opportunity to lead multiple workstreams in a complex transformation programme for a leading financial services or insurance organisation.

The successful candidate will report directly to the Technology and Data Transformation Director and take responsibility for establishing governance, driving delivery, and ensuring alignment across all programme workstreams. This role requires a hands-on leader who can operate effectively at both strategic and execution levels, influencing senior stakeholders while managing project-level risks and dependencies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Initiate and manage multiple streams of the Technology and Data Transformation programme.

• Establish governance frameworks, programme controls, and consistent ways of working across streams.

• Manage programme communications, risk management, and financial controls.

• Provide hands-on programme management for foundational data and technology projects.

• Track milestones, manage dependencies, and ensure effective delivery across workstreams.

• Lead stakeholder engagement, rallying teams to collaborate, unblock bottlenecks, and drive progress.

• Conduct post-implementation reviews and retrospectives to capture lessons learned.

Skills & Experience Required:

• Extensive experience in managing large-scale Tech and Data Transformation programmes.

• Strong background in Financial Services or Insurance (essential).

• Expertise in Waterfall, Agile, and Hybrid methodologies with ability to adapt to different delivery models.

• Hands-on experience with foundational tech/data projects such as reconciliation remediation.

• Proven track record of deploying Federated Data Governance frameworks and governance tooling.

• Excellent stakeholder management, influencing, and communication skills.

• Ability to drive alignment across diverse teams and effectively remove barriers to delivery.

• Proactive risk management approach with a mindset of continuous improvement.
