Senior Project Manager

 

Description:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead and manage complex System Integration (SI) projects involving PLC, SCADA, and Drives technology. This is a hybrid role based in the North West region of the UK, offering flexibility between office, site, and home working.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and oversee projects from initiation to delivery, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and on budget.
  • Collaborate with the Head of Sales to identify and secure new business opportunities.
  • Manage a portfolio of projects, which may evolve into a program of work, ensuring each individual project achieves its objectives.
  • Provide strong leadership to project teams, fostering a high-performance culture.
  • Manage contracts, change control, risk, schedule, and quality to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Build and maintain solid client relationships and strong communication with stakeholders and internal teams.
  • Offer technical direction on site installation, electrical engineering, control systems, safety systems, commissioning, and systems management.
  • Report on project progress, risks, and resolutions directly to senior management.

Qualifications Required:

  • Recognised Project Management Qualification (APM, PMI, or equivalent).
  • Degree in a relevant engineering discipline (e.g., Electrical, Control Systems, Automation).

Key Skills & Experience:

  • At least 5+ years’ experience managing large-scale projects in the automation, control systems, or systems integration field.
  • Proven success in delivering projects on time, within budget, and to agreed quality standards.
  • Strong leadership, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience working with NEC3/NEC4 contracts (highly advantageous).
  • Expertise across project management, site installation, control and safety systems, commissioning, and systems integration.
  • Understanding of industry regulations and frameworks for capital projects.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with both customers and internal teams.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills.
