Senior Project Manager

 

Description:

Mott MacDonald, a global engineering, management, and development consultancy with over 20,000 employees in 50+ countries, is seeking Senior Project Managers to join its growing Buildings division.

The role involves managing diverse construction and built environment projects across both the public and private sectors, including central government, local authority, and private clients (e.g., Ministry of Justice, Home Office, Homes England, MHCLG, Sheffield Council).

As a Senior Project Manager, you will act as the integrator of multidisciplinary teams, guiding projects through the RIBA stages, and ensuring delivery against time, cost, quality, environmental, and social outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Advise clients in defining project briefs, governance structures, and strategic goals.

  • Establish and procure project teams, manage change control, and oversee project execution plans.

  • Lead performance management using KPIs, reports, and communication strategies.

  • Act as a leader and mentor to junior team members.

  • Manage internal project delivery processes (BMS compliance, risk, and commercial performance).

  • Support business development efforts, including bids, cross-selling services, and client engagement.

  • Capture success stories through project case studies and client feedback.

Candidate Specification:

  • Alignment with Mott MacDonald’s PRIDE values.

  • Demonstrable experience in Buildings sector project management.

  • Strong client management and stakeholder relationship skills.

  • Chartered or near-chartered professional (MAPM, MRICS, MCIOB).

  • Leadership, mentoring, and business development mindset.

  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and innovation skills.
