Description:
Mott MacDonald, a global engineering, management, and development consultancy, is seeking an experienced Senior Project Planner to join the Transport and Mobility Solutions (TMS) team. The role involves leading the scheduling of highways infrastructure projects for private and public sector clients across the UK. The Senior Project Planner will be part of the project leadership team, reporting to the Project Manager, and collaborating with Design Managers and Discipline Leads.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and manage detailed project schedules using Primavera P6, including overall project plan, WBS, timelines, resource allocation, and critical path analysis
Review project progress against baselines, input into variance reports, and calculate earned value metrics
Integrate design, procurement, and construction activities into cohesive project timelines
Monitor progress, identify risks, and propose mitigation strategies
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure alignment with project goals
Prepare reports, dashboards, and presentations for internal and client review
Support earned value analysis and critical path reviews
Engage with technical teams, clients, and key stakeholders
Requirements:
Essential:
Proven experience as a P6 Planner or Scheduler on engineering/infrastructure projects
Proficiency in Primavera P6, MS Project, and Excel
Understanding of highway design processes and civil engineering workflows
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Familiarity with NEC contract requirements in relation to programme
Desirable:
Degree in Civil Engineering, Project Management, or related field
Experience working with multi-disciplinary teams and contractor clients
