Senior Software Developer

Description:

Reporting to the Head of Application Delivery, key areas of responsibility will include (please see the full job description and person specification for the comprehensive list):

• Developing and implementing functional internal and external systems, platforms, and integrations.
• Focusing on day-to-day delivery of development and technical projects and their respective engineering-based solutions and architecture.
• Supporting the ongoing uptime, maintenance and performance of the RSC's existing platforms and systems.
• Providing senior technical support on projects.
• Leading technical implementation from a development standpoint, ensuring quality of code is up to standard and follows best practice.
• Identifying and advocating for ongoing enhancements and improvements to existing platforms and systems.

To be suitable for this role, it is essential that you have the following knowledge and experience:

• Significant software development experience and a thorough understanding of the full software development lifecycle.
• Comprehensive experience working with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React, Angular and/or similar front-end frameworks and API integrations.
• Knowledge of web development best practices, including responsive design and development, security, performance, and optimisation issues.
• Sound knowledge of cloud platforms including Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services.
• An aptitude for problem solving, with a sound and logical approach to solving software design and development problems.
• Ability to work well within a team environment as well as independently.
