Senior Software Developer

Description:

Gallagher Re is seeking an experienced Senior Full Stack Developer to join their innovative engineering team. As part of one of the world’s largest reinsurance brokerages, you will design, develop, test, and deploy web-based software products, driving technical excellence and improving performance and security across Gallagher Re’s platforms.

The successful candidate will lead and advise on best practices, enhance the company’s codebase, and help innovate solutions for complex technical challenges, ensuring accessibility, security, and scalability. You will have the opportunity to collaborate with a global team and shape the experience of hundreds of colleagues across Gallagher Re.

This role is primarily UK-based with monthly travel to London headquarters, and full UK working rights are required.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and develop software applications across the full development lifecycle.

• Enhance and refactor existing products using .Net Core and Angular 17+, optimized for Azure cloud deployment.

• Provide coaching, training, and guidance to team members.

• Conduct code reviews and maintain consistent development standards and practices.

• Facilitate performance and security testing of new and existing codebases.

• Analyze high-level requirements and break them into development tasks.

• Collaborate with business analysts, designers, and front-end developers to deliver quality software.

• Create unit tests for new and existing code.

• Recommend improvements to development methodologies and standards as part of a continuous improvement culture.

• Support 2nd line support teams in troubleshooting and resolving live system issues.

Skills & Qualifications:

• Proficiency in Angular 17+, .Net Core, Azure Cloud, SQL, Docker, Azure DevOps.

• Experience with automation testing tools: Selenium, Playwright, BDD.

• Familiarity with Azure Cloud concepts such as App Service, Key Vault, Service Bus, CosmosDB, ACR, APIM.

• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

• Ability to work across multiple complex product domains.
