Senior Software Engineer

Samsara, a global leader and pioneer of the Connected Operations™ Cloud (NYSE: IOT), is looking for a Senior Software Engineer I (Full-Stack) to join its Release Management team. This team plays a vital role in managing how product features are developed, tested, and rolled out across internal stakeholders and external customers. Samsara’s cloud-based IoT platform enables organizations across industries such as agriculture, construction, manufacturing, logistics, and transportation to harness IoT data for actionable insights, improving efficiency, safety, and sustainability.

As a Senior Full-Stack Engineer, you’ll design and build systems that govern feature lifecycles — from internal testing to public releases — ensuring they are safe, reliable, and visible to the right users. This role involves building robust internal tools, enhancing customer-facing experiences, and collaborating across multiple teams to create scalable and intuitive solutions that help shape Samsara’s global product delivery framework.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the design, development, and delivery of end-to-end full-stack projects, from intuitive frontend interfaces to reliable backend services.

• Build and maintain React-based UIs and Golang backend systems that support feature flagging, gating, and lifecycle transitions.

• Ensure high data integrity and system scalability through effective design and integration with storage systems.

• Collaborate cross-functionally with product managers, engineers, and key stakeholders to enhance feature discoverability, rollout processes, and user experience.

• Continuously improve code quality, maintainability, and system health by contributing to best practices and reviewing team code.

Minimum Requirements:

• 5+ years of professional experience in software development.

• Strong programming fundamentals and experience with large-scale enterprise software.

• Proven ability to work across the full technology stack (frontend, backend, and data systems).

• Demonstrated experience owning feature development end-to-end, from design to delivery.

• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to collaborate effectively across teams.

• A proactive and growth-oriented mindset focused on innovation and system improvement.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience developing full-stack applications serving both internal and external users.

• Familiarity with feature flagging, release systems, and scalable deployment infrastructure.

• Experience with distributed systems and data reliability/auditability.

• Proficiency in Golang, React, and TypeScript (or similar frameworks).

• Previous experience working with release management, feature gating, or deployment automation tools.
