Description:
Pick Everard is seeking an experienced and proactive Senior Structural Engineer to join their dynamic and expanding Structural Engineering team in Manchester. As a Senior Structural Engineer, you will be involved in the design and management of a wide range of challenging and diverse projects across sectors including healthcare, education, commercial, custodial, and residential. The role will involve site survey work, design development, and leading the delivery of projects from concept to completion.
You will work closely with a talented team of engineers and designers, contributing to the development of high-quality, innovative structural solutions. Support for chartership with ICE or IStructE is also provided through mentorship, workshops, and seminars.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and deliver structural engineering projects, ensuring quality, timeliness, and budget adherence.
Conduct structural design work using various materials such as steel, concrete, timber, and masonry.
Perform structural surveys and site inspections.
Use engineering software such as Tekla, Tedds, SCIA, and AutoCAD to prepare designs and reports.
Liaise effectively with clients, stakeholders, and design teams to ensure smooth project delivery.
Supervise junior engineers and contribute to a supportive and knowledge-sharing team culture.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant construction contracts and appointment forms.
Candidate Requirements:
Solid experience in structural engineering design, with a background in steel, concrete, timber, and masonry.
Hands-on experience in structural surveying and site inspections.
Proficient in structural engineering software including Tekla, Tedds, SCIA, and AutoCAD.
Strong verbal communication skills and the ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
Capability to lead projects and mentor junior team members.
Desirable Skills:
Incorporated or Chartered membership of ICE or IStructE.
Understanding of construction contracts and appointment documentation.
Excellent report writing and presentation skills.
Broad-based technical knowledge across various project types and environments.
