The West Sussex Young Persons and Families Services, part of the West Sussex Drug & Alcohol Wellbeing Network, is seeking a Children and Young Persons Senior Therapist to deliver and develop a comprehensive therapeutic service for children and young people (aged 7–18) affected by or who have witnessed parental drug or alcohol use. This is a part-time position requiring extensive travel across West Sussex.
Lead the development and delivery of the West Sussex Children and Young Persons Therapeutic Service.
Provide operational line management, including reflective supervision, appraisals, performance management, and sickness management.
Oversee recruitment, selection, and induction of new team members.
Act as the designated safeguarding lead for the service, ensuring robust risk assessment and escalation procedures.
Manage referrals, allocate clients, and oversee the scheduling of therapeutic sessions.
Chair and lead team meetings, promote a culture of learning, and cascade updates on service developments.
Monitor service performance, governance, and compliance with internal and external policies.
Relevant professional qualification (e.g., Counselling, Art Therapy, Play Therapy).
Attained or working towards BACP Accreditation or equivalent.
Strong analytical skills for service evaluation and improvement.
Proven experience in therapeutic intervention delivery, project management, and report writing.
Excellent partnership working, relationship management, and pathway development skills.
Salary: £36,183.91 – £38,175.15 (pro rata for 30 hours/week).
