Senior Transport Planner

Description:

Pegasus Group is looking for talented and experienced Senior Transport Planners to join their growing Solent Transport Team. This role offers the opportunity to work on a variety of complex transport planning projects across multiple sectors including residential, health, education, retail, energy, leisure, and employment.

As a Senior Transport Planner, you will be responsible for supporting development planning projects throughout their entire lifecycle—from site selection and due diligence to planning, design, and implementation. This includes the preparation of Access Strategies, Transport Assessments and Statements, Travel Plans, Parking Strategies, Sustainable and Active Travel initiatives, Construction Traffic Management Plans, and contributions to Environmental Impact Assessments. You will also be involved in S106 negotiations and liaison with local highway authorities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Undertake junction modelling using Junctions 10 (Arcady, Picady) and LinSig.

• Prepare detailed transport-related documentation and reports.

• Contribute to sustainable development by promoting active travel and sustainable transport solutions.

• Collaborate with clients, project teams, highways officers, and community stakeholders.

• Assist with due diligence, planning, and design phases of development projects.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Degree in a related subject; a master’s degree in transport is an advantage.

• Familiarity with relevant policy and guidance frameworks (NPPF, DMRB, Manual for Streets, LTN 1/20).

• Ability to manage multiple projects and deliver high-quality outcomes.

• Strong communication, negotiation, and client engagement skills.
