Senior Ui Engineer

As a Barclays Senior UI Engineer, you will be joining the four new agile full-stack feature teams to work on an exciting new digital investing product. You will help leverage some existing digital app capability but will be mostly building brand new customer-facing digital features, with the user interface fully designed, built and owned in-house. You will be working closely with UI/UX designers, as well as supporting more junior developers in the team.

What will you be doing?
• Taking the lead on UI development for that team as a member within our agile feature teams

• Taking business and functional requirements and translating them into technical, functional and user interface designs
• Producing and maintaining readable, well-documented code, along with accompanying automated test coverage
• Providing support to testing cycles ensuring that defects are resolved, unit and integration testing of code
• Supporting and mentoring junior colleagues, including graduates, interns and higher apprentices
• Partaking in all aspects of an iterative Agile development lifecycle
• Developing and maintaining robust relationships with the application support teams to ensure effective delivery of projects into the production environment

What we’re looking for
• Extensive hands-on experience designing and building Single Page Applications, using AngularJS or ReactJS, plus experience of native iOS and Android development

• Experience with Bootstrap, Materialize or Responsive Web Design
• Experience in the Wealth Management, Financial Planning and Digital Investing domains
• Educated to degree level or above, preferably in Computer Science or Software Engineering

Skills that will help you in the role:
• Experience of consuming REST APIs and message queues

• Java programming experience, while not essential, would be an advantage
• Good leadership, communication and collaboration skills
• Proven ability to design and develop enterprise solutions using tools and techniques such as GIT, TDD/BDD, Jasmine, JEST, Karma
