Description:

Mirus IT Solutions, part of the Advania Group and a leading provider of IT services and technology solutions, is actively hiring a Level 2 Service Desk Engineer for their Milton Keynes office. This hybrid role presents a valuable opportunity for experienced IT professionals seeking the next stage in their career.

As a 2nd Line Service Desk Engineer, you'll provide technical support to a range of clients, working to resolve complex issues while ensuring smooth operations of IT environments. The position comes with a clear pathway to progression, including opportunities to advance to 3rd Line roles and beyond. Mirus IT invests in its team’s growth, offering exam funding for technical certifications (e.g., Microsoft, VMWare).


Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 2nd line technical support for client IT environments

  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues across desktops, servers, and networks

  • Deliver exceptional customer service while adhering to SLAs and performance targets

  • Maintain detailed and timely ticket documentation

  • Collaborate with team members and escalate when necessary for 3rd line support

  • Develop expertise in Office 365, server infrastructure, networking, and virtualization platforms

  • Contribute to long-term client satisfaction and operational excellence


Required Skills & Technologies:

  • Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with:

    • Office 365 (Azure, Intune, SharePoint)

    • Server Infrastructure and Networking

    • Hypervisors (VMWare ESXi, Microsoft Hyper-V)

    • Windows Server and Desktop Operating Systems

  • Ability to manage ticketing systems and ensure accurate documentation

  • Proven problem-solving abilities and dedication to ownership of client issues

  • Strong communication skills and a client-oriented approach


Work Arrangement:

  • Hybrid model:

    • First 6–8 weeks fully on-site in Milton Keynes for onboarding and support

    • Afterward, standard hybrid policy of 2 days in-office, 3 days remote

  • Must be local or able to commute to Milton Keynes during initial training period
