GatenbySanderson is seeking an experienced and dynamic Interim Adults Commissioning Service Manager to join our client’s Adults Commissioning team. This leadership role provides an exciting opportunity to contribute to transformative change within adult social care, helping to design, commission, and deliver high-quality, person-centred services that empower independence, well-being, and dignity.
As a Service Manager, you will be a strategic driver of innovation, embedding evidence-based commissioning approaches, ensuring regulatory compliance, and fostering effective partnerships. The role requires agility across strategic, operational, and commercial commissioning functions, supporting services that impact over 7,000 people.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the design, implementation, and delivery of commissioning strategies, market development, and service transformation.
Oversee quality assurance, contract management, and performance monitoring to ensure best practice and value for money.
Manage brokerage services, cost negotiations, and hospital flow processes, ensuring timely and effective service delivery.
Champion co-production with stakeholders and partners, embedding collaboration into all commissioning practices.
Ensure readiness for CQC inspections and regulatory compliance across services.
Support integrated health and social care pathways, bridging gaps between sectors.
Deputise for the Head of Service and provide strategic leadership input into decision-making and planning.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
Proven leadership experience within adult social care commissioning and service management.
Strong background in performance improvement, partnership working, and service transformation.
Skilled in contract negotiations, cost management, and ensuring best value outcomes.
Confident in working with complex health and social care systems.
Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic, and evolving environment.
