Derby College is seeking a passionate and dedicated Sessional Teacher of ESOL to join its teaching team at the Roundhouse Campus in Pride Park, Derby. This exciting role offers an opportunity to deliver high-quality, engaging, and inclusive ESOL education that empowers learners to progress academically and personally.

The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting 16–18-year-old learners from diverse backgrounds, including those seeking asylum or with refugee status. You will deliver ESOL programs from Pre-entry to Entry Level 3, integrating Functional Skills Maths, Essential Digital Skills, and tutorial sessions aligned with the academy’s educational framework.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver effective and inspiring ESOL lessons that engage students and foster academic growth.

• Support learners across all stages of ESOL from Pre-entry to Entry Level 3.

• Integrate ESOL teaching with Functional Maths and Digital Skills components.

• Monitor learner progress and provide constructive feedback to ensure successful outcomes.

• Adapt teaching methods to meet diverse learner needs and maintain high educational standards.

• Contribute to the continuous development of ESOL provision and college-wide initiatives.

About You:

• Experienced ESOL teacher with a background in Functional Maths, GCSE Maths, and Essential Digital Skills.

• Skilled in teaching 16–18-year-olds, including those from refugee and asylum-seeking communities.

• Possess a recognized teaching qualification (Certificate in Education, PGCE, or Professional Diploma in Teaching).

• Flexible, dynamic, and responsive educator who can adapt to sessional work demands.
