Shift Manager

Description:

Maersk is seeking an experienced Shift Manager to join its Doncaster facility, contributing to its mission of transforming global logistics through streamlined end-to-end supply chain solutions. The role demands a strong operational leader with deep knowledge of compliance, safety, and facilities management in a warehouse or distribution center environment.

As Shift Manager, you will be responsible for maintaining legal compliance, upholding health and safety standards, and ensuring the integrity of all operational and facility processes. You will work collaboratively across departments, manage third-party service providers, monitor contractor performance, and uphold Maersk’s standards in alignment with ISO, BRC, and food safety requirements.

This is an on-site, full-time role requiring excellent leadership, organizational, and technical compliance skills. The successful candidate will ensure safe, efficient, and compliant operations, proactively managing risks and contributing to a high-performance culture.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure compliance with legal, health & safety, and food safety regulations

• Manage external contractors (security, catering, cleaning) and ensure service quality and legal adherence

• Oversee MHE fleet coordination and pre-planned maintenance schedules

• Manage waste streams and sustainability practices

• Maintain and train teams on “Know Your Building” folder and documentation

• Support site audits, health checks, and due diligence initiatives

• Track and report on KPIs for contractor and facility performance

• Ensure legislative compliance in supplier and maintenance activities

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet site targets and improvement goals

• Facilitate and document internal/external audits and procedural assessments

• Maintain high standards of housekeeping and contractor control procedures
